Operating history across market cycles
Our portfolios draw on the best individual and collective resources. Each portfolio manager has the autonomy to maintain the culture, philosophy and research capability that is distinct to their investment discipline. While our connected ecosystem provides managers access to a global client base, exclusive opportunities and advice from across our whole business.
Together with our affiliated managers, we currently operate four distinct investment strategies.
Event-Driven Merger Arbitrage
Based in New York, this global strategy focuses on near-dated (0- to 30-day) hard catalyst events within announced merger transactions. The investment team employs deep research within complex, hostile, up-for-sale situations where they believe the primary research process can drive uncorrelated alpha.
Real Estate Bridge Lending
Based in Toronto, this strategy focuses on commercial and industrial real estate lending. The investment team specializes in complex construction, term and pre-development bridge loans throughout North America. Loan origination primarily consists of first-lien mortgages employing no structural leverage and an emphasis on risk management.
Based in London, this strategy focuses on European equities. The investment team specializes in uncovering opportunities within financials, cyclicals, and mining and minerals while employing a market agnostic approach.
Asia Credit & Special Situations
Based in Hong Kong, this strategy focuses on Asia Pacific credit and special situations. The investment team invests in high-yield performing, stressed and distressed situations through bonds, primary and secondary loans. The on-the-ground expertise and deep local networks allows them to capitalize on under-researched and inefficient markets with limited competition.
