Michael Cagnina

Michael brings more than three decades of institutional investment experience to his role as Managing Director within AlTi’s Endowment and Foundation practice. In this capacity, Michael is focused on further expanding the firm’s presence in the sector by partnering with endowments, foundations, philanthropic families, and other mission-driven institutions. He works directly with boards, investment committees, and senior professionals to deliver the investment judgment, governance support, and portfolio sophistication organizations of this complexity require.
Michael’s career has been defined by a commitment to the nonprofit and institutional market, advising organizations ranging from independent schools, cultural institutions, and religious organizations to community foundations, major university endowments, and large private foundations. Prior to joining AlTi, Michael spent most of his career at SEI’s Global Institutional Group, where he co-founded the firm’s OCIO practice and helped build it into a world-leading OCIO provider. Earlier in his career, Michael served as a Trading Liaison for U.S. Treasury Bond Futures at the Chicago Board of Trade, where he developed and enhanced technical and fundamental trading strategies.
Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arizona and maintains FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, 65, SIE licenses.
